ISSA-CIMS Certified with honors
Varsity was the first organization in the industry to receive the CIMS certification with honors designation. Facility Manager’s use CIMS to pre-qualify contractors before they send them an RFP. The CIMS assessment covers five different areas of qualification: Quality Systems, Service Delivery, Human Resources, Health/Safety and Environmental Stewardship, and Management Commitment.
CIMS (Cleaning Industry Management Standard) is the first consensus-based management standard that outlines the primary characteristics of a successful, quality cleaning organization.

ISSA-CIMS Certified GB with honors
Varsity was one of the first organizations to certify as a green building company. Through a third-party auditor, Varsity was certified for its green building policy, high-performance cleaning program, custodial effectiveness, purchase of sustainable cleaning products, materials and equipment, and indoor chemical and pollutant source control.
To help meet the growing demand for green and the U.S. Green Building Council's Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) certification, the Cleaning Industry Management Standard (CIMS) and Certification Program includes "Green Building" (GB) criteria and an optional GB designation.

Ashkin Group Green Cleaning Champion Award
Varsity is a proud recipient of the Ashkin Group Green Cleaning Champion Award. The award is given to companies that support the Ashkin Group’s mission of creating healthier, more productive indoor environments with lower burdens on natural systems, while creating sustainable value.
ISSA has recognized Varsity’s Janitorial Training Program as a leader among facility services companies for delivering exceptional training to its employees.
The Cleaning Industry Training Standard (CITS) program is designed to increase professionalism and demonstrate a commitment to effective training. Specifically, the program is focused on training and certifying frontline cleaning professionals, verifying training programs and training facilities to a set industry standard, and improving the skills of industry trainers through a comprehensive workshop.
Carpet & Rug Institute (CRI) Approved Vendor
Carpet cleaning products, methods and equipment are improving all the time, but not all cleaning products clean equally well. CRI tested an assortment of carpet cleaning solutions and equipment and found a wide variance in how well these products work and discovered that some even damage carpet.
The CRI Seal of Approval program identifies effective carpet cleaning solutions and equipment that clean carpet right the first time and protect a facility’s carpet investment. Not all products clean well enough to earn the Seal of Approval distinction, so look for facility services companies who have received the blue and green CRI Seal of Approval as proof that they are using effective products, equipment, and methods.
HHPC Day Cleaning Certified
The HHPC Day Certification requirements and standards are designed to help the contractor demonstrate commitment to excellence in the execution of day cleaning. By following this path to certification under the rigorous HHPC Day requirements, the contractor will have demonstrated the organizational capability and critical systems to execute day cleaning to the highest quality standards. To maintain HHPC Day certification the contractor must maintain compliance with the HHPC Day certification program standards, requirements, and licensing agreement.
BSCAI 2012 "Best in the Industry" Safety Award
As part of BSCAI's on-going effort to promote safety throughout the Association and industry, BSCAI's Safety Awards are given to the companies with the best safety records.
Varsity received the best, large-company award for safety based on the company's mod rate, incidents and loss ratio. Varsity's disciplined implementation of its safety program has led to significant company-wide improvement in the evaluated safety metrics.
BSCAI Best Company Uniform
Varsity Facility Services was recognized with the 2010 BSCAI Award for "Best Company Uniform" in the large company category.

Springfield, Missouri, March, 2013 - Varsity was awarded the 2013 Torch Award for Marketplace Ethics by the Better Business Bureau.
The BBB Torch Award for Marketplace Ethics is designed to promote not only the importance of ethical business practices, but also the willingness and efforts made by outstanding businesses to ensure that our country’s marketplace remains fair and honorable for all consumers and businesses.
The Building Owners and Managers Association (BOMA) International is an international federation of more than 100 local associations and affiliated organizations. Founded in 1907, its 16,500-plus members own or manage more than nine billion square feet of commercial properties.
BOMA International’s mission is to enhance the human, intellectual and physical assets of the commercial real estate industry through advocacy, education, research, standards and information.
Formed in March 1965, BSCAI is a trade association for the building service contracting industry with more than 2,000 member companies, including membership from 39 foreign countries. BSCAI represents companies who provide cleaning, building maintenance and other related services to building owners and managers. The association supports its members through providing training, education and outreach and represents the building service contracting industry worldwide.
Varsity has been active in BSCAI since 1974 and its leaders and managers attend annually various seminars, conventions and trade shows. They also serve on the board of directors and various committees. Varsity's Chairman, Arlo D. Luke has served on the board of directors for three terms and served in 1997 as the President of the Building Service Contractors Association International.
The International Facility Management Association (IFMA) is the world’s largest and most widely recognized international association for professional facility managers, supporting more than 22,655 members in 78 countries.
The association’s members include 127 chapters and 16 industry councils worldwide; manage more than 37 billion square feet of property; and annually purchase more than US$100 billion in products and services.
Formed in 1980, IFMA certifies facility managers, conducts research, provides educational programs, recognizes facility management certificate programs and produces World Workplace, the world’s largest facility management conference and exposition.

The National Service Alliance (NSA) is comprised of the "best of the best" building service providers in North America, owned by seven (7) leaders in the industry, Varsity Facility Services as one of the managing partners. With these Managing Partners, the NSA sets the standards for high-quality, cost-effective facility solutions while maintaining "hands-on" management. The Carpet and Rug Institute (CRI) is a nonprofit trade association representing the manufactures of more than 95% of all carpet made in the United States, as well as their suppliers and service providers.
APPA promotes excellence in all phases of educational facilities management, including administration, planning, design, construction, energy/utilities, maintenance, and operations. Membership is open to all educational facilities professionals, including those from public and private, two-year and four-year colleges and universities; medical and law schools; seminaries; public and private K12 schools and districts; museums and parks; military installations; federal, state and city-county governments, and business partners that serve educational facilities.
