POCATELLO — Arlo Luke and Fahim Rahim won Hall of Fame honors at the Southeast Idaho Business and Achievement Awards held at the Stephens Performing Arts Center in Pocatello on Wednesday night.
The annual event’s main sponsors are the Idaho State Journal, Southeast Idaho Business Journal, Pocatello-Chubbuck Chamber of Commerce, Blackfoot Chamber of Commerce and Farm Bureau Mutual Insurance.
Luke is the chairman of the board of Varsity Facility Services, a Pocatello company that’s become a household name in the U.S. cleaning industry. His contributions to Southeast Idaho are vast, including his strong involvement in the Boys Scouts of America. In 2008, he was named Idaho State’s Businessman of the Year.
Rahim earned his Hall of Fame Award through his philanthropic contributions to causes in both the Pocatello area and around the world. Event organizers noted his extensive generosity, particularly for anybody who is holding a fundraiser or who has fallen on hard times. Rahim is also known for visiting countries around the world to make life better for the enslaved, malnourished and even the earthquake-stricken.
Now in its 16th year, the Southeast Idaho Business and Achievement Awards event recognizes exceptional business and community leaders from throughout the region.
