Stop/Go Process

Skill Polish: PROTECT

The JanOPS® Stop/Go Process allows you to quickly assess the cleanliness of the area and identify whether you need to clean it or not. Some areas need to be cleaned daily, some areas do not.

What to Scan For?

When you stop and perform the 5/25 feet scan, here is what you are looking for.

  • PaceOPS Specialist: Look for dust, large debris on carpet, smudges/spots on wall and door plates, trash or soil in, around, and on garbage can.
  • VacOPS Specialist: Look for soil or debris on carpet.
  • SpecialOPS Specialist: Look for visible carpet spots, glass spots, and dust.

Focus Areas:

As part of the JanOPS Green Clean Program, specialists clean these “focus areas” each day, regardless of whether visible soils are present:

  • Rest rooms
  • High traffic areas
  • Hallways
  • Entry mats

Do not apply the Stop/Go process to these areas. For all other areas, specialists perform the Stop/Go process.

Did you know?

The JanOPS minimum standard for vacuuming the entire carpet is once per week.

Because microorganisms are impossible to see in a 5/25 foot scan, the RestroomOPS specialist never implements the Stop/Go process. All areas and surfaces within the rest room must be cleaned daily, regardless of whether there is visible soil.

A JanOPS specialist preserves assets! Carpet focus areas such as hallways and mats are vacuumed daily to protect and extend the life of carpet fibers.
